Troy
Abercrombie is the director of Accounting and Auditing Services
for the firm. In this position he is primarily responsible for the
training and supervision of all audit staff, the review and quality
control of audit and review engagements, and the recruitment of
personnel. Additionally, Mr. Abercrombie is responsible for many
of the firm’s general business consulting and other financial
consulting engagements.
Mr. Abercrombie has significant experience working
with closely held companies and their owners.
He has particular exposure to the manufacturing,
distribution, real estate and transportation industries.
Mr. Abercrombie has assisted these businesses
by preparing financial statements, analyzing internal
control procedures, designing and implementing
accounting systems, assisting in the conversion
of computer systems and developing significant
ratio and data analyses.
Prior to joining Talley & Company, Mr. Abercrombie
worked with the international accounting and consulting
firm of Grant Thornton, in Irvine, California.
During his nine years there he managed audit,
review and compilation engagements of small and
mid-sized companies in various industries, such
as manufacturing, distribution, transportation,
real estate, financial services and tax-exempt
organizations. Mr. Abercrombie is also experienced
in business formation, mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Abercrombie holds a bachelors of Arts degree
from California State University, Fullerton. He
is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in
the State of California and is a member of the
American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
and the California Society of Certified Public
Accountants.
Mr. Abercrombie has been a lecturer for professional
continuing education on such topics as accounting
systems and internal control structure, adoption
of new accounting standards for deferred income
taxes and computer applications. Troy also has
instructed and consulted various small accounting
firms on accounting systems and internal control
structure. He has spoken and lectured to California
State University and Chapman University students
on topics such ethics and trends in pubic accounting.
